From Split: Full-Day Trip to Plitvice Lakes National Park

1. From Split: Full-Day Trip to Plitvice Lakes National Park

This day tour of Plitvice lakes from Split is a perfect tour for all staying in Split and trying to make the most of their holiday in Croatia. Plitvice National Park was founded in 1949 and became famous during the 1960s and 1970s through several Western film productions of Karl May novels. Many scenes were shot at the lakes or waterfalls. The geographic position of the Plitvice Lakes and the specific climate features contributed to the emergence of many natural phenomena and a rich biodiversity within this area. Despite the vicinity to the Mediterranean, a moderate mountainous climate prevails due to the Velebit mountain range, which acts as a climatic separator between the coastal and continental region. For centuries, legends have been created about these mythical lakes, rivers and waterfalls. According to one legend, inhabitants of the region were craving water and called upon the magic queen to help them, which she did by creating the Plitvice lakes. The availability of water has a great impact on the biodiversity of this area. The forested mountain slopes serve as water reservoirs and as a refuge for many animal species. The wider area of the national park is one of the last areas in Europe where wolves and brown bears can be found. About 50 species of mammals and 321 different species of butterflies live in this region. Explore the hidden pathways of Plitvice.

Mum and l had fantastic day in Počitelj,Mostar and Kravice. Our tour guide Josip was excelent with important and interesting informations all the way through our journey .In Mostar we had local tour guide very knowledgeable and fast.I also have to mention Mate our bus driver who made our journey safe and fast as possible although waiting time on boarders were a bit slow.We can highly recommend this tour destination and hopefully we will use same company again in the future.Hvala !

The guide who was with the transport and the guide in Mostar itself were both good at telling about things in an exciting way. We had both time with the guide and could walk around ourselves, which was really nice.

Great tour to Bosnia. Enough time in Mostar and at the falls. Very nice guide on the tour and the guide in Mostar also super nice. Beautiful city, you have to see it and a lot cheaper than Croatia.

Very nice day of discovery with the guide Lovro who was friendly, funny and attentive. (GGG= Great Guy Guide!!!) Mostar was a great experience. And great time spent in Kravice to cool off!

The announced number of participants of max. 8 people was exceeded, so that it was very tight in the bus... Otherwise everything was great and Josip our guide gets 5*
