The first sight on the tour is Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque which is truly a masterpiece of the world architecture. It took 6 years to erect it and in 2001 it was successfully opened. This mosque is a traditional light Islamic building made from sandstone and marble. It has got 5 minarets – one main and 4 side minarets which create a special distinctive look. The internal design is rich in mosaics, huge handmade Persian carpets and chandeliers decorated with crystals. Our next stop is the Royal Opera House – the pearl of the Oman musical and stage art. The third sight we can’t avoid seeing is Muttrah Souq – the market located right at the banks of the Gulf of Oman. That’s an ideal place if you want to have a look at the ordinary life of Oman. Just go along the rows, look for the items, bargain and have fun as here you can find everything starting from spices finishing traditional rugs, vases or just souvenirs. Having seen the market, we should also look at the Mutrah fort. The fort leads its history at 1580s when the Portuguese had built it. It served as a military defense from the rivals in the past, but today it’s open for tourists. Next thing in Muscat to see is a well-known Al Alam Palace — the residence of Sultan Qaboos. We had a tour with Abdullah who picked us up from the hotel in Al Mouj. The 2 hour drive was extremely pleasant, we learned a lot from him about the country. Once there, we walked a longer and beautiful path along the Wadi. Then we swam and it was fantastic. On the way back we visited the sinkhole (also nice, but not too exciting for us). We then ate with Abdullah and after 9 hours we came to the hotel happy and exhausted :-) We can highly recommend the Wadi Shab, as well as Abdullah and his very friendly manner! FYI: there were two of us and the guide. Also FYI: definitely take swimming shoes with you!!!

Very well organized and our tour guide - Ilyas - was terrific. The tour is a bit more swimming than I realized, so bringing less gear is better. We stopped at a store prior to arriving in order to get phone cases/shoes if required. Definitely would recommend if looking for day trip in Oman.

An exceptional day in wonderful landscapes with a very professional multilingual and competent guide who answered all our questions and who was able to pass on his knowledge to us and make this day as pleasant as possible. He knew how to adapt to the group. To do and redo. I recommend.

На Вади Шаб обязательно стоит поехать, впечатления надолго, особенно с гидом Ильей. Организация на уровне, все четко, очень душевно и хорошо провели время. Илья везде с нами прошел и проплавал, наснимал, накормил, все как обещано)

Tour guide was great and it was a unique experience
