Take in some of the most spectacular scenery the Cape Peninsula has to offer as you cruise along the rugged coastline from Hout Bay harbor.  As you cruise over the waters, get breathtaking views of the famous Chapman’s Peak Drive and the Sentinel Mountain, in addition to the chance to see other marine life including dolphins and whales. 40-minute Seal Colony Cruise: child-friendly cruise from Hout Bay harbor to Duiker Island the Seal Colony where you can view thousands of wild Cape Fur Seals, close up in their beautiful natural habitat. 60-Minute Seal and Shipwreck Cruise: see the Cape Fur Seals at Duiker Island and then continue below the Kabonkelberg mountain range to Moari Bay notoriously known for its Shipwrecks which ran aground in 1994 during one of the famous Cape winter storms. 60-Minute Chapmans Peak Cruise: set off from Hout Bay harbor to Duiker Island to view the Cape Fur Seals. From there the boat will cross the bay and travel back to the harbor along the cliffs and caves of Chapmans Peak.

In just 20 minutes you’ll be out of Cape Town’s city center and traveling along the Overberg south coastal route to Gordon’s Bay, Pringle Bay, and Betty’s Bay. The route is picturesque and is an enjoyable way to set the mood for the full day ahead. Travel beneath Sir Lowry’s Pass and see the sheer cliff faces that drop into the Indian Ocean below. As you near Betty’s Bay, you’ll have views of unspoiled beaches stretching for miles. Stop to see the breeding ground of the African penguins at Stony Point or visit the Harold Porter National Botanical Garden. Continue the drive through Hermanus to the seaside town of Gansbaai. The magnificent cliffs of De Kelders and the unspoiled beach provide for perfect land-based whale watching. In Gansbaai, you’ll head out on a 2-hour whale-watching journey. The purpose-built boat and restrictions on the number of passengers make it possible to fully enjoy the experience of observing these creatures at play. Afterwards you’ll head back along the coast to Hermanus for a late lunch (not included in the tour price). There’s much to see and discover in Hermanus, including up-market shops and arts and crafts stalls. Head along the N2 to the Peregrine Farm Stall, the final stop on the tour. Join the longest operating Seal Snorkeling team in Cape Town at their comfortable Snorkel Centre for a unique marine wildlife adventure! Arrive at the Snorkel Centre to sign in, be sized for your equipment and enjoy refreshments and the souvenir shop before getting into your wetsuit and listening to an educational and safety briefing by one of the Marine Guides. You'll then hop into the Seal Mobile for a short 5-minute drive to the Hout Bay Harbour, where you will be greeted by the waiting boat and skipper. On board you will receive a boat safety briefing before starting the trip out of the harbour. You will stop to see your first seals sunning themselves within the harbour before the boat picks up speed and transports you quickly and safely to Duiker Island - a 10 to 15-minute boat ride away. Once at the island the trained crew on board will give you an area orientation briefing and help you kit up with your mask, snorkel, fins and gloves. You'll then slide into the Atlantic Ocean and become immersed in the world of the Cape fur seals! Spend 50-minutes snorkeling alongside these friendly creatures as they admire you, and watch as they swim and play alongside one another. Back on board you will be offered hot chocolate, drinking water and biscuits - as well as warm water to be poured into your wetsuit to take away the chill! Marvel at your experience and share photos whilst you get ready to head back. On arrival at the Snorkel Centre have a quick hot water shower and get changed before joining your guides to share your experience over a cup of hot tea or coffee, or plan the rest of your day online with the shared WiFi available.

Our trips departing from Quay 5 in the Waterfront. With a bit of luck you will have a chance to see Cape Fur Seals, Dolphins, Whales, Penguins and Sun Fish and potentially much more as we search the bay for sea life. The destination of the tour is not always the same as this trip is really about spending time on the water and looking for the rich sea life that can be found in the proximity of Cape Town. However you can be assured that you will have amazing views of the Table Bay and will be able to see some of Cape Town most amazing landmarks from the water: Table Mountain, Signal Hill, Lion's Head, Camps Bay and Clifton Beaches, Robben Island. You will of course be able to take pictures when the speedboat occasionally stops to make sure you have memory of such incredible experience. The trip starts with a safety briefing by the skipper, the fitting of life jackets and the signing of the indemnity in our offices on Quay 5. Children are welcome as long as they are under the supervision of adults. Our expeditions are weather-dependent and routing will depend on the expected weather conditions for the day.

Your 1-hour adventure is aboard a rigid-hulled inflatable boat, which is ideal for getting up close and personal to ocean wildlife without intruding. With the Atlantic Ocean sparkling under the early morning sun, you’ll have the perfect opportunity to leisurely observe nature at its most beautiful. Arguably the best time of day to see wildlife, this sunrise ocean safari gives you the chance to see some marine and water species ranging from whales like orcas and southern rights, sprightly penguins, graceful dolphins, languid sunfish, and so much more.
